A Lesson From Geese on Teamwork
I’m sure you’ve seen flocks of geese flying through the
sky and noticed that they are always in a V-formation.
You may or may not know this but there has been
studies from actual scientists on why this is so.
Yes, there really is a purpose for the geese flying in
this manner. Who would’ve thought!?
Now, what I want to do is use geese flying in a
V-formation as a visualization on the importance
of teamwork.
Why team mates/tribe members…whatever
you call it, NEED each other, will be answered in this video.
Wasn’t that cool? Who would’ve thought that a flock of
flying geese would teach us a lesson on teamwork?
Don’t forget to share this on Facebook and Retweet it
if you think it’s worth sharing.

Jaclyn, This is fantastic! Looking to nature is always an important exercise to ground us and keep us focused. The animals seem to know what to do better than we do! You are a great leader! I’ll fly in your updraft anytime!

That’s right Nancy! Animals really do know which direction to take in their life.
Appreciate your leadership comment.

Tribes: No Goose Left Behind!
Such a great analogy ~ I’ve always been impressed with the way geese work together. A true model for us all!
Thanks Jaclyn!

Jaclyn,
Loved your analogy to Tribes and geese. I didn’t realize that when one of the members fell, two other birds would fly down to take care of it. Maybe we should be more like the geese!
Really enjoyed visiting your blog. Thanks for sharing this great lesson.

No Goose Left Behind! I like that as well
I love the analogy because there are so many great examples in nature of teamwork.
It’s so true that more can be accomplished in a team setting than can be accomplished alone. That’s why finding a team that has everyone’s best interests at heart it so important.
Thanks for the wonderful post Jaclyn, and I look forward to coming back for more in the future.

For some (unintentional) reason I continue to use our non-human friends as a way for us to teach us lessons.

This whole tribe thing is still new to me but I can imagine how it relates to geese. If tribes works like the geese, then I’m so excited to be in one! Powerful lesson!

Powerful indeed. Tribes usually consist of a “leader”….but not this tribe
The power of one (tribe) can be felt in waves!

Hi Jaclyn
There is a lot more to the geese flight formation than I realized. A lot of great comparisons and natural examples of teamwork in their patterns. I like that the “no goose left behind” concept…reminds me of marines.

Yeah, same concept as how the Army soldiers never leave their men behind.

Jaclyn – good lessons from the geese. Sure is a good way to illustrate the need for teamwork.
But in internet marketing why is it that newbies so often get left to do ALL their own heavy lifting? Gurus might give webinars about the “how” to do stuff but they’ll never share the actual niches, or keywords etc that work for them. What comes across to me is “If you want some help I’ll sell it to ya.”It’s all about taking – every which way.

Hey Jaclyn, This was a great explanation about the geese. I never knew why they flew like that. It is so true though about Team Work.
