Is this how your run YOUR business?

It seems as if time flies not only when we’re having fun, but also when disruptions get thrown in our way of productivity. Especially if you’re new to this rockin’ world of network marketing online I’m sure you’ve discovered right off the bat that there are at least a hundred different distractions that pull your attention away from what matters the most – your online business.

Let me ask you a simple question: Ever look back at how your time was spent at the end of the day and realize that there were a lot more things that could’ve been checked off of your task list? The truth is we all have the exact amount of time available as the next person does. Whether you’re the CEO of your company, a mother of 5, hold two jobs, or have a project due soon. We are all busy, we all have 24 hours in our day, we all have our lists of things to do, etc. It just depends on how we choose to use our time (and with that said what our standards are). But I’ll leave the latter for another blog topic of discussion.
Let’s get into how to increase your productivity in your online marketing journey.
(I’ve created this list specifically for the online MLM business owner and online home business owners alike, but this list is also helpful for off-line traditional biz owners, too.)

Follow my 7 Productivity Secrets to get more done when your business hat is on.

1. WARM-UP! (Create a Ritual) This MUST be done first thing in the morning. Here are some uplifting activities that I do to get me started in productivity early in my day BEFORE I do anything in my business. A) I soak up my Super Mentors’ words of wisdom. I’m talking Tony Robbins, Robert Kiyosaki, Jonathan Budd, Mark Hoverson, Jim Rhon, Zig Ziglar. Imagine how empowering it is to have great minds ingrain intellectual thoughts into yours. B) Ingest strings of knowledge (read, study, read, study ). Think high-level training books or anything that you’re passionate about. You’ll enjoy Think & Grow Rich Secrets of a Millionaire Mind, 4-Hour Workweek, and The Power of Now just to name a few. C) Move your body. In other words, find a physical activity that will boost oxygen and blood flow – 10-15 of walking or jogging, 50-100 jumping jacks, 10 push-ups. Adding a ritual such as one of these will definitely inspire you to do your best once you start your work. Do you see baseball players just step into the game without warming up first? No!! they warm up first before they get in the game! (That would be the batters-box Secret!) Discover something you will look forward to doing so it feels like play and not work.

2. Never check your email until… I DO NOT check my email until I do something that produces money. Unless of course I’m expecting an important message to help me produce my activity for the day. Another way to think of it is this, “Never check email before you sow your seeds.” It is so key to start your day off with some money making activity instead. So write an ezine article, learn how to write awesome ad copy, create a new ad campaign…you get the idea. Heck, why not record your voice mail for starters? Sorry, i’m jumping ahead of myself…you’ll see what I mean in #4

3. Set up your email auto responder. Most, if not all email accounts have an auto responder. If you don’t know how to set it up within your account just do a search on youtube or Google. I’m almost sure you’ll find a tutorial or article on how to. This is such a time saver and does it’s job for you so you won’t be a slave to your email messages.

4. Turn off your phone. Why be a slave to your phone? Isn’t that what the voice mail feature is for? Here’s a generic message you can say when recording your voicemail for your prospects, clients, etc:

“Hey there this is Jaclyn. The weekend is here which means I am not. However, by Monday morning EST at noon I will return your call for sure. So make sure and leave your name and number. I WILL get back to you then. You are important to me and my weekends are just as important.”

This supposed to be FUN & make me $?

If you don’t wanna be this lady to the left (or the man up above) go and record your voice mail with your personal message like this one.

5. Find someone to do your stuff. No I’m not talking about high paid outsourcing. I’m talking about your brother, your book club buddy, your daughter, your fellow church member, your best friend, your cousin, that teenager that lives down the street/hall from you. The list goes on. Wow, you have a list of folks to lend you a helping hand. Repay them with 20 bucks, treat them for ice cream or cook them dinner. Just think about what productive activity you could be doing such as creating an ad campaign for google instead of figuring out how to create a header for your new website.

6. Write out your NOT to do list. This is one of my favorite and most interesting secrets. Most of us are all too familiar with the to-do list but only a handful actually write out a NOT to do list. Here’s an example: DO NOT log on to Facebook ‘til after 8pm. DO NOT sign on to YouTube until you complete your blog article. DO NOT go to bed until you’ve made at least one ad campaign.

7. Quit Multitasking Already! Does this sound familiar? You’re attending a webinar all while browsing and posting on Facebook walls, replying to articles on blog’s, eating lunch, and chatting on skype? Forget that you’ve been awarded the “Best Multitasker on Earth”. If you don’t have at least a take away from what was taught in the webinar then you just wasted your scheduled time for that specific purpose of attending the webinar, right? Yes you may have completed small tasks here and there but multitasking doesn’t allow you to really focus on one thing at a time (hence “multi” tasking).

The bottom line is this – be productive in ONE very specific activity at a time, then cash out psychologically for the rest of the afternoon/night…whatever. Because you simply cannot pursue a dozen things simultaneously and expect to be that productive leader 100%. It’s just not possible when your mind is chasing a hundred different commands.

Now don’t be selfish. Help your friends be more productive in their internet marketing world so they will reach their dreams faster by sharing this article on Facebook, Twitter (whatever rocks your world). Click on any social media icon up above or below in the “bookmark share” link. And I’d love to know what you think…so leave me a comment.

“How do you customize and omit those
annoying videos that pop up after your
youtube video is finished playing?”
“How do I embed a video into my website?”

These questions are ones I’ve heard at least
a hundred times over the last couple months
of building my business online.

In this short 3-minute video tutorial you’re
going to learn how to do exactly that.

And I also threw in some bonuses in there as well.

But first, allow me to share with you the importance
of omitting those little annoying videos that pop
up at the end of your videos.

BTW, those little annoying vids have a name. The
name is “related videos”.

The best way for me to do this is by
giving you a scenario.

Here it is:

You decide on a topic, do some research on how to
best teach others that particular topic, pull some content
together, write up a little something about it (maybe more
than a little), prepare your video equipment, dress well,
put your makeup on and fix your hair, record your video
(in some cases more than 5 takes if your son yells
for snacks, wants you to read him a story, or needs the
potty, etc.).

I’m not done yet…

Don’t forget to upload your video from your camera,
convert it if it needs converting, edit if need be,
upload to youtube or viddler or whatever, enter
the description of your video, enter some tag words,
set your video settings, and finally view it one last
time to make sure it’s ready for public viewing.

High Five for getting this far!

Now that you have viewers you want to make sure
that you have their full attention…period!

If the related videos pop up, yes that most likely means
they watched through your entire video…BUT then now
they are distracted from the related vids, they click on
one of it and then they forget your video, your name,
and what you just talked about.

Okay, I’m sure you get my point on why it’s important
to take out those related vids that pop up at the end of
your videos.

Now what you’re gonna do is watch this video
I made for you and then leave a comment right after that.

Click here to view the embedded video.

See, you appreciated the bonuses, right?

Alright, now you know how simple it is to customize
your youtube videos. There is so much more you
can do. That said, I’ll be making some vids within
the next coming weeks or sooner on how to customize
your youtube vids even further.

So watch out for that.

Navigate up to the Facebook and Twitter buttons
on the top right hand side and share this with your
tribe, community, who ever, where ever!

Just get it out there and spare as many people
as possible, the distractions of what’s at the end of
their hard working videos.

If you haven’t yet had the courage to do so, hopefully
it’s not because you’re waiting for perfection to be created
before you flip your business sign to “open”. Or maybe you
haven’t done any videos yet because you don’t think you
have any topics to discuss about.

In this two minute video below I touch on the importance of why
you should leverage your video camera for your business and
why it is so important to have presence on camera, most
especially if you have an online business at that.

I’ll also get into what topics you can choose to talk about on
camera (actually there is so much more that I didn’t even
mention in this video…hey be creative

Check it out here:

Click here to view the embedded video.

Oh, and don’t forget to grab a yourself the
free download for CamStudio here for those
screen capture videos) and start making some
video tutorials of your own. You may know everything
there is to know about your industry, product,
compensation plan, etc… but until you can actually teach
others how to do something, how something is made, or
even how to explain your biz comp plan, it says a lot about you
and leadership skill sets.

Now, break out your camera and start rolling!

And you’re gonna want to plug back in here for a
tutorial on how to use CamStudio (in the
next coming days).

See you soon!

Yes, there really is a purpose for the geese flying in
this manner. Who would’ve thought!?

Now, what I want to do is use geese flying in a
V-formation as a visualization on the importance
of teamwork.

Why team mates/tribe members…whatever
you call it, NEED each other, will be answered in this video.

Wasn’t that cool? Who would’ve thought that a flock of

If you are a victim to the headless question mark box or
if your pic is a blue or gray faceless head…I made this
just for you!

It is a must watch and learn!

Here goes…

What is a Globally Recognized Avatar?

Enter: Gravatar

When you visit other people’s blog sites and leave comments
there or participate in online forums, it’s a smart idea
to have a picture that represents You. This way, instead of a
box with a question mark or a figure of a man representing
you…YOU get to choose how you want to be represented.

This is most especially important is you’re trying to brand
yourself. If you want to represent a company or service, choose
the icon of that organization. If you want to personally brand
YOU, you guessed it…this is the time to pic the best picture of
yourself.

It takes seconds to sign up for a Gravatar, and again…just like my
last video post on the Google Wonder Wheel, you gotta love
it! Why? Because it’s free! And super easy!

If there aren’t any light bulbs turning on what I’m recommending
in this post, you’ll know after watching this video below.

So, what do you think? Simple, right?

A picture is really worth a thousand words! Go and turn some
heads and set up your Gravatar right now.

And don’t keep this all to yourself now…go and spread the love
with your friends. They’ll appreciate you for it!

Remember to leave me your thoughts below on what you
think of swiping a Gravatar. I would love to hear from you!

Google recently made this available for us to utilize and it’s one of the
coolest tools around! This is really about targeting special keywords or
key phrases enabling you to dominate your niche across whatever it is
you pick out. It’s refining your keywords that others are actually searching
for to allow you to be able to rank in the search engines when it comes to

I’m so glad to have shared this with you because
it is such an incredible tool. That’s it for now.

Stay committed and keep rocking the Wheel!

The reason I want to shed some light on this is because we all know it’s major to learn from our experiences so that we can gain the knowledge needed to thrive in our lives. In other words, I want to get into this with you as a reminder that we need to step off of that pedestal and learn to let go of our egos.

But first off, if you’re thinking that this is one of those posts that’s just an excuse to dump my feelings on you because I’m bored, I promise you that that’s something you don’t have to worry about.

So here goes…

The couple was sponsored into my organization by one of my business partners. Because of this couples’ long history in the home based business industry I had thoughts of the high statuses that I could achieve right away; how immature of me. To defend myself, this particular couple had a reputation for success in the area of home business.

Because I was their up line I was not only required, but I was willing (and excited I may add) to train them on everything they needed to know about our team and company. Mind you, I was pretty new to the business (only two months into it) but was trained rather extensively regarding the entire company and team. The bottom line is that I had a lot more knowledge than this couple even could imagine me having.

Anyhow, I had this notion that they were going to appreciate the things that I was excited to teach them; concerning the way to do things to be successful in this new business of theirs.

Boy was I wrong.

In the team I was a part of (at the time), our first steps after an enrollment of a business partner were important if we wanted our organization to be a successful one. We had to teach them a lot of different topics; like how to build their contact list, how to set appointments, how to present the company properly, and how to do a follow-up…You know the drill, guys .

Personally, it was an honor for me to teach someone that had lots of experience in this industry a thing or two. As a matter of fact, this couple had WAY more experience in the home based industry than me.

(Did I mention this was my only experience in anything dealing with the entire home based business industry?)

Right off the bat everything started out poorly. Yes, okay they knew people interested in signing up in the company instantly and they wanted me to tell them WHAT to do first. That was pretty much all they wanted to know from me. It may not sound as bad, but to me it did; because I wanted to TEACH them how to do things, NOT TELL them.

They wanted to take the reins and pretty much take control on stage. Did they care about what I had to teach them?

Probably not.

Whatever their reason was, the bottom line is they didn’t give me any second thought; they didn’t care for my help.

To be fair, their business organization flourished beautifully and is still that way today as I write this. That is great for them!

Without me saying it, do you sense where I’m going here?

Why do we doubt other people’s values or capabilities?

I would’ve appreciated a plain and sincere thank you. But they didn’t so much as say “Thank you for offering to train us.” I’m not gonna sit here and say that I am the one who should be getting credit for any part of their business because I’m definitely not the reason for their success.

But getting back to my point of the post: Their pride in choosing to do things on their own didn’t help them in any way to become better at being a better and well rounded individual.

I don’t say this because I am huge on personal development and self-improvement. Instead I say it for apparent reasons. Here is an excerpt of one of the books I’m currently reading by Eckhart Tolle that will explain what I mean even further:

“People will often enter into a compulsive pursuit of ego-gratification and things to identify with in order to fill this hole they feel within. So they strive after possessions, money, success, power, recognition, or a special relationship, basically so that they can feel better about themselves, feel more complete. But, even when they attain all these things, they soon find that the hole is still there, that it is bottomless.”

“As long as the egoic mind is running your life, you cannot truly be at ease; you cannot be at peace or fulfilled except for brief intervals when you obtained what you wanted, when a craving has just been fulfilled. Since the ego is a derived sense of self, it needs to identify with external things. It needs to be both defended and fed constantly. The most common ego identifications have to do with possessions, the work you do, social status and recognition, knowledge and education, physical appearance, special abilities, relationships, personal and family history, belief systems, and often also political, nationalistic, racial, religious, and other collective identifications. None of these is you.”

So why did I wanna share this excerpt with you? Because it talks about “The Ego’s Search for Wholeness.”

I sincerely feel for this couple not wanting any help. They need to get off of their high horse! Seriously!

That is one way for us to grow, develop ourselves and expand our minds. It is how we add value to our lives and towards one another on how much we can offer others; one way is by receiving help.

Continuous education anyone?

Without me going on and on about this, I just want to say that I have zero doubt in my mind on whether or not you understood what this post was about. In fact I have confidence that you got my message.

Let’s share our values with one another and help each other to thrive in our individual lives. It will help our souls, ease our minds, and ultimately will allow us to feel good about ourselves in what we have to offer others.

And educator Roy Blitzer states that the “Two basic rules of life are these: (1) change is inevitable and (2) everybody resists change. The only person who likes change is a wet baby.” (Hilarious!)

We all enjoy doing things in life that ultimately create results for us, even when those results do not serve us with the best outcomes. On the same token, we expect better results yet resist anything new, which becomes the point when we crawl back into our safe havens where it is most safe and most comfortable.

At first this would not seem so absurd but it is quite true since the paradox is that, change is the only constant. Thus, in order for us to grow and evolve, we must learn to change and stretch beyond our comfort zone.

As an example, taking into consideration that you are comfortable with engaging in a specific activity such as your job that you’ve been in for the last 20 + years, then you are simply doing what you’ve already been doing for the last 20 + years, which is producing the exact same results as the year before this (or decade for this matter) and so on and so forth.

Conversely, if you’re willing to step out of your comfort zone and just do something that will make you uncomfortable; a new skill, activity, strategy, talent; then what do you think will happen? You WILL produce new and innovative outcomes! And how do you suppose that would lead you to feel?

My point? If it is uncomfortable, it more than likely means that you’re doing the right thing and it’s the quickest course to greater success and accomplishments. Need I say, “Don’t stop, keep it up!”? Maintain your competitive edge, get comfortable with being uncomfortable and embrace change.

Think of it in this light: It is healthy to embrace and respond to the new normal.

Today is the day to reevaluate and refine your strategy and approach.

Here is a final question to you posed by Mark L. Feldman. There are five frogs sitting comfortably on a log and one decides to jump off. How many frogs are left? The answer is five. There are five frogs left sitting on the log because there’s a difference between deciding and doing.

Don’t be the fifth frog that decided NOT to take that “leap of faith” if you will. Make the decision to EMBRACE CHANGE instead of simply embracing your good intentions that have no action to drive them.
